HSTA and Retirees Support Neil Abercrombie for Governor

August 18, 2010

HSTA-R Hawaii Island President, Big Dog, and daughter Jaclynn Joseph support Abercrombie for Governor

Neil Abercrombie for Governor

If you weren’t at the Civic in Hilo last night you missed a great opportunity to see and hear the next Governor of the State of Hawaii.

Abercrombie is the recommended candidate for Governor from the HSTA and after hearing what he had to say about us I am convinced that he is the best choice for Governor.

Abercrombie says he wants to invest in educational excellence starting with quality preschools for all.  He wants to create higher expectations and more innovation in K through 12 education.

Abercrombie also was to return decision making to the schools and he wants to ensure that enough funding goes to each school to develop well rounded students by continuing the funding to the arts, music, and physical education departments.

Abercrombie also was to nurture the university system as a full partner in developing Hawaii’s economy.

A crowd of around 3,500 listened to his energized speech on providing good jobs, new infrastructure, energy independence, growing our own food and investing in good health.

Please consider voting for Neil Abercrombie in September.

It was a wonderful gathering on Tuesday. It was heartwarming to see so many active and retired teachers supporting Neil. We need to work our hardest in these last days to be sure his name is the only democrat on the governor’s race ballot in November. Please keep storng for Gary Hooser as Lt. Gov. as well as our endorsed candidates on each island. Mahalo Wayne for all of your hard work. -Niyati Brown
