Wil Okabe thanks HSTA-R for our demostration/contributions

Wil Okabe and Wayne Joseph

Aloha Wayne,

On behalf of this generation of teachers I want to thank your generation!

The support we are receiving from the Big Island retirees inspires us to continue our struggle to preserve for the next generation all that your generation has passed on to us.

None of us will ever forget that it was your demonstration that forced the Governor to speak with you. And it was your strength that forced him to offer to return to the bargaining table.

Sadly, the Governor has gone back on his word.

Unlike you, he has forgotten his past and those who helped him get where he is today.

Please know that HSTA’s teachers won’t ever forget that we are standing on the shoulders of our retirees who cut the path that we now travel.

Together your generation and mine will advance the cause to which we have dedicated ourselves – to make things better for those who will follow us.

P.S. Please give our love and gratitude to your daughter for capturing the Governor on video.
