Demonstration against Governor gets his attention

August 3, 2011

The Informational Demonstration held during the Governors visit to Hilo on August 2nd, 2011 was well attended by members of HSTA-R, the ILWU, Operational Engineers, as well as token representation from HGEA, UPW and a few others.

The governor got our message, loud and clear, and has scheduled a meeting for August 15, 8:30 am at the ILWU to hear our grievances.

All HSTA retirees are invited to the meeting with the governor and is asked to get there a little earlier as seating is limited.

The ILWU plays host to the Big Island Labor Alliance and the governor wants to address the union’s serious concerns with his first seven months in office.

To those that attended the demonstration on Tuesday my sincere aloha and Mahalo for supporting the cause!
