Interest in Governors protest/appearance draws record numbers

July 27, 2011
“A New Day”

Interest in the Governors appearance and union demonstrations here on the Big Island have given our web site a new record for the number of views in a single day.

Previously Steve Ono’s views held the record of 126 hits in one day, but yesterday, July 26, we broke the record with a single day views of 135 hits.

Glad people are going into our web site to view various items and that I am able to make enough stories of interest to our members.

On another note, a member of the media contacted the Governor’s press secretary yesterday and asked to see the places that he will be going on August 2nd, but the press secretary answered that they were unaware of a schedule for the Big Island.

One must now wonder if the Governor’s Office does not want the media at any of the places that will have demonstrators.

Hope to see some or most of you at the ILWU Hall on August 1st to make signs or at the informational picket lines on August 2nd.

Mahalo,  Wayne “Big Dog” Joseph, president, HSTA-R Hawaii Island District
