West Hawaii Community Club Officers Meet

   The HSTA-R West Hawaii Community Club (WHCC) met on Monday (July 26) at Denny’s in Kona to discuss reorganizational plans.

   The WHCC received a grant when HSTA-R state president, Justin Wong, wrote and received a grant to activate the club.

   Pictured above, from right to left, is HSTA-R Big Island President, Wayne “Big Dog” Joseph, HSTA-R WHCC President Jo Ann Iwane, member Bev Oka, WHCC Secretary Kathy Staton, newly retired Niyati Brown, WHCC Treasurer Karen Nakashima, and Justin Wong.

   HSTA-R current has four districts, which are aligned with the four county districts of Kauai, Oahu, Maui and Hawaii Island.  In addition there are two Community Clubs, Kona and Molokai.

   Jo Ann Iwane called the meeting and set the agenda.  She also have tentively set up quarterly events for West Hawaii members with the first one being set for Friday, September 3 at Innovations.

    Thank you so much to all of the retirees who welcomed me into their meeting. I hope I can organize Hamakua area retirees to become more active in HSTA-R. Thank you Wayne for being such a prompt webmaster. Thank you Justin for traveling so far to be with us. Thank you Jo Ann for all that you do for the club along with the other officers. Mahalo for your hospitality.
