Volunteers are the backbone to any good organization

HSTA-Retired in the Community:        Participating in community activities provide HSTA-Retired unique opportunities to support the organizations who helped us when we were classroom teachers – providing educational materials and speakers, sponsoring programs and fund raisers, lending man power and facilities, donating generous products, etc.  When we wear our bright blue signature polo shirts at these activities, we are a visual reminder to the community that public school teachers have not forgotten, that we are still a caring and nurturing group, and that we are role models for our youth and parents.

During the month of March, HSTA-Retired volunteers were visible at Hale Anuenue’s Mardi Gras parade, Big Island Marathon and the Blood Bank of Hawaii donor drive.
